Map and Conastoga wagon. Map shows the only trail for people and goods from Philadelphia to North Carolina. It was estabished by Buffolo herds, followed by indians, then white settlers who were getting crowded in by people in the north. Also the English invited Germans to settle the midlands of NC to create a buffer between the British in the east and the indians in the west.












Home built by German imigrant Hezekial Alexander in 1750. Log cabin in the back is the kitchen.
