Biltmore Estates

The nomadic tribe of Mary and Richard Thomas neared Maiden, SC to spend Thanksgiving with son Bradley (left blue shirt), his girl friend(Erin) and Erin's family for a wonderful family dinner!!!

While in SC we visited the Biltmore Estates in Ashville, SC. It was built in 1895 by William Vanderbuilt. It had electricity, indoor plumbing, 250 fireplaces, 400 rooms, electric restaurant refrigurators, and occupied 4 acres of area. I was dressed in all it's Christmas glory and we could take no photo in the "palace", so you'll have to go visit it or use your inagination. Vanderbuilt was a 41 year old bachular at the time. He then married a 25 year old socialite form NY.

Fountain under wall facing the house about a 1,000 yards from the house.

The shops were all decked out for Christmas and had samples galore for tasting. This house is still owned by the family and a for profit organization. Therefor they're going all out to attract the holiday shopper.
